BUTCO INC. has been in business since 1969 and holds the patent pending on the UNIVERSAL TRIPOD. Important differentiation's between BUTCO and other manufacturers are as follows:

1. The BUTCO patented aluminum main top casting retains the tripod legs solid when open. Thus eliminating the need for a chain from leg to leg, which in itself causes tripping safety hazards. Many of our competitors require a chain between the legs of the tripod.

2. We are nearly exclusive in the use of a rope for lowering and lifting personnel. Most of our competitor's use galvanized or stainless steel cable, which in itself is a safety hazard if exposed to below ground wiring. We offer galvanized and stainless steel cable for sewer and water lines that are not exposed to below ground wiring.

3. Very durable and lightweight at 59 pounds.

4. Meets OSHA 1910.146 and ANSI Z117.1-1989 requirements.

5. Over 10,000 units sold and in the field.
